Since its founding in 2010, Louise Roe, the design company, has drawn inspiration from diverse sources, both historical and contemporary, local and international. This broad range of influences allows Louise to capture and filter her environments, continuously absorbing the shapes, hues, and details of the city, nature, and the people she encounters. Her design aesthetic lies in the realm between early art deco, 30s Brutalism, and Bauhaus minimalism, where simple yet detailed shapes thrive. Louise is particularly drawn to concrete structures, geometric attributes, and functionalism with subtle details that make all the difference. Her preference for minimal expression allows her to focus on light and shadow, creating designs that captivate while maintaining that one detail which makes it all sing.
