The Tangent Table by Danish designer Anne Boysen combines organic forms with sculptural geometry in a modern dining table that balances aesthetics and function.
Available in rectangular and round versions, each features an asymmetrical tabletop and unique base. The round version prioritizes closeness and equal participation, avoiding the distance issues of traditional extendable tables. The solid wood tabletop uses six tangential arcs that flow together, creating a sculptural, asymmetrical form with elegantly curved edges for a light, floating quality. The base contrasts a curved disc with a sturdy volume, both crafted from solid wood with softly rounded feet, creating visual tension that shifts with viewing angle.
The round table extends with up to two leaves, maintaining its harmonious character while growing in function. An integrated apron conceals the extension fittings and preserves the flowing lines.
With its organic, asymmetrical shape and clean geometry, the Tangent Table breaks convention without sacrificing comfort or capacity.
